Managing Portal Settings
The manager can do the following under admin settings.
- ODP manager will have options to either approve or reject an account.
- Only approved accounts by ODP manager can login to the ODP.
- He has access to remove any account at any time.
- He can assign any role (Visitor/Contributor/Manager) to an account.
- He can move user from one role to another.
- He can set default role for the users during their sign-up process.
- Manager can control the behavior of the portal. ODP portal can be set as Private or Public.
- Private Portal - Only registered user can access ODP. User must log-in to ODP to view any content.
- Public Portal - Any user can access ODP without log-in
- Manager can apply style / theme / color to change the appearance and much more appears under 'Admin'.
Note: ODP manager cannot get access to all datasets available in ODP. Dataset owner or someone with full control has to share the dataset to the manager for him/her to gain access to it.
General
- He can set default role for the users during their sign-up process.
How to set-up default role for users in ODP
- In General settings scroll down and look for 'Default Permission'. There will be a drop down with list of options, choose the desired one according to your ODP need and hit save button at the bottom.
- ODP manager can set default permissions to the users. The following permissions can be set.
None
When this permission is set any registration comes to the manager and he has the right to approve or reject the registration. When approved the user will be a visitor.
Visitor role
With this permission any person who registers will become a visitor by default
Contributor role
With this, the registered person will become a contributor by default.
Users
- ODP manager will have options to either approve or reject an account.

Appearance
Manager can apply style / theme / color. To change the appearance/other options, they can be seen clicking the 'Admin' tab.
Opening ODP for Public
To open ODP for Public go to Admin Authentication settings. Check the option 'This community is public'.
