Users with Contributor role can upload data to ODP. Uploading data to an existing dataset is determined by that particular Dataset owner. If a dataset owner wants to allow other users to upload data he/she must give either Edit or Full Control access to users by using Sharing Options menu available in the dataset.
Locating Dataset for Upload
To Upload data to an existing dataset, locate and select the dataset that you want by traversing through the data catalogue.
- If a dataset is shared to you for uploading data, it can be found under Data Catalog --> Data Browser --> Personal -->Shared to me. You can also book mark the dataset by selecting star icon appears on the extreme right side of Dataset Title. Please be noted, if the star icon shown in yellow color means, it is already book marked by you.
- All the datasets that are book marked by you will be available under Data Catalog --> Data Browser --> Personal -->Pinned Datasets
- Under Data Catalog --> Data Browser --> Personal -->My Datasets, all datasets owned by you will be shown there.
Uploading Data
- After selecting the dataset for which you want to update data, click on the upload data option.
- The next screen will be as the one below. In this click on 'select file to upload' button to choose the latest file you wish to update.
- After selecting the latest data file that you would like update click submit.
- Once you submit the file, system will display few rows of data that are present in the uploaded file. This is to ensure that the uploaded file has the desired data that you want to update. If the file has correct format, system will display a GREEN progress bar.
- If the file format is incorrect, the progress bar will be red in color with the specific error being printed on the screen.
- After uploading, data can be submitted by clicking on the 'Submit' button. Data file will be sent to the processing queue. A processing status bar appears on the same window. After submitting the file, we need not wait on the same page. Once file is processed, system will send you an email. A system generated mail will be received from 'system@knoema.com'. Some mail servers might block this email id. Please check your JUNK/SPAM folder and make sure system@knoema.com is not blocked by your email server.

Once the file is processed, system will display the status as below, in case if you are waiting on the same page after submitting the file.
You will also be notified with a confirmation mail like below.
