POC Proposal: Scope to include setting up a knowledge graph on top of RBC owned datasets in the RBC data catalog. The goal of the POC is to show how the knowledge graph makes it easier for business users to find the data (business users can be both internal and external to RBC). POC scope to also include the steps needed to expose the data for external users including the commercial aspects related to entitlements & monetizing the data. To facilitate this POC RBC will provide the data catalog and sample datasets to Knoema.

 

For FINTECH DEMO DAY:

  • Deliver: a portal with public and dummy data for internal use only

  • Obstacles: Max is checking if they are even permitted to register/log in to a Knoema AWS hosted closed portal. Let's hope so!

  • Next: We pushed again for any feedback on the mock up and short list of public datasets we should add to a demo portal. Max is connecting with Kabir and hopes to get back to us in the next couple of days. I offered to demo the tech live from other portals so they can understand the functionality better. But, I also emphasized that only through hands on work will they come to understand how best they want to use it for their organization and we'll respond with options to revise the portal interface accordingly.

FOR PAID POC:

  • Deliver - Phase 1: Appliance version of portal, still for internal use, but with SSO as well as (likely) API-based entitlements (TBD) for data and content access and RBC internal data. 

  • Obstacles: many stages of procurement paperwork and technical due diligence.

  • Next: On RBC (led by Max) to coordinate with procurement and send questions to Knoema for information as needed to support that process.



Deliver - Phase 3: External facing portal for subscribers to RBC content and data. All TBD.
